Where TypePad excels…

The post creation panels at TypePad are so friendly, so obvious. I’m really going to miss them. I haven’t figured out how to easily flip back and forth between HTML and WYSIWYG here on WordPress. I wonder if a third party tool like Qumana will iron out any of these wrinkles?

Update:  there is a whole page of WordPress documentation given to “client” alternatives.  I might as well start with Qumana!  There are some great bloggers who swear by it.  At least I think Jeneane swears by it… she probably still swears by it but how can you tell, faced with the blogspot white screen of blahhh.

Qumana works well with WP, Frank. I tried it out. But then I really found Performancing for Firefox suits my style so much better. Mobility is an issue for me, and I can carry it on a thumbdrvie via Portable Firefox so I have access anywhere.

You’ll find some pretty decent alternatives. I for one hate the WP editor since they upgraded it. I find it more trouble that it’s worth and use it as little as possible.

    I like Qumana too, but I would .. having been a co-founder ! ;-)

We used to talk about putting it on a jump drive .. haven’t tried, but as far as I know should be pretty straightforward.

As well, we are on a quest for continual improvement .. in ease-of-use and versatility .. for example, we are working on a stealth basis towards several interesting (we believe) and even easier-to-use ways to offer value to bloggers.

We value direct and challenging feedback from seasoned bloggers such as yourself, frank .. because trying to be responsive to demanding users is the best way to make a better product and gain *friends*
